Led by a 19% decline in international travelers, the passenger count at the Las Vegas airport continued its downward slide to kick off 2026 with nearly 350,000 fewer people passing through, a 7.9% drop in January compared to January 2025.
Harry Reid International Airport released its numbers Thursday ahead of the Nevada Gaming Control Board releasing its January gaming revenues on Friday. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is also expected to release its monthly visitor and hotel occupancy numbers on Friday as well.
There were 4.02 million passengers in January, down from 4.36 million in January 2025. Domestic travelers made up 3.68 million of the total, down from 3.95 million, a decline of 6.8% from a year ago.
There were 272,145 international passengers, down 19.2% from 336,734 in January 2025. Passenger counts continued to be down from Canada with two airlines, Westjet and Air Canada, reporting drops of 28% and 34%, respectively, over January 2025.
