Illinois casinos generated $158.1 million in September gaming revenue, a 13.8% increase from the $139 million in September 2024, boosted by two new casinos and one moving onto land.
The latest report from the Illinois Gaming Commission showed that of the 17 casinos in the state, six saw year-over-year revenue increases. Hollywood Joliet Casino saw the most significant increase of 48%, with revenue rising from $7.6 million to $11.2 million after moving from its riverboat casino to a land-based casino in August.
Harrah’s Joliet Casino & Hotel saw a loss of 17.6% year-over-year, with revenue decreasing from $9.7 million to $8 million. The Hard Rock Casino Rockford also saw revenue decrease, falling by 13% from $13.7 million to $11.9 million.
Two casinos were not in operation in September 2024, so they did not have year-over-year results. However, the Wind Creek Casino, which opened in November 2024, generated the second-highest revenue in the state of just less than $16 million.
Three casinos saw revenue remain stable, including Full House Resorts Illinois, which had a year-over-year increase of 0.8% from $9.4 million to $9.5 million.
Slot revenue for the state saw an increase of 11.9% in September, rising from $107 million to $119.8 million, and table games increased by 19.8% from $31.9 million to $38.3 million.
