The American Gaming Association issued a call last year for regulators to make cashless payment options more accessible for gamblers.
At least one provider is hoping to take advantage of that push.
On Tuesday, Global Payments Gaming Solutions announced it is expanding an agreement with International Game Technology to provide a range of cashless funding solutions across IGT’s portfolio of products. IGTPay will allow patrons to transfer funds from registered bank accounts to IGT’s Resort Wallet Cashless Wagering Accounts.
“As cashless adoption continues to grow in the U.S. gaming industry, we’re proud to offer Global Payments’ trusted and proven service to our customers and their patrons as an integrated feature of our proprietary IGTPay solution,” IGT Vice President of VLT, Systems and Payments Products Ryan Reddy said in a statement.
The agreement allows IGT to offer customers and their players access to Global Payments VIP Preferred Network. Players who use the VIP Preferred Network will have a smoother cashless gaming experience.
“This expanded agreement with IGT reaffirms our ability to provide a wide range of solutions for cashless gaming,” Global Payments Gaming Solutions President Christopher Justice said in a statement. “Our experts are experienced leaders in developing solutions to address industry challenges, and we work to meet – and exceed – our clients’ needs.”
Global Gaming Solutions is a division of Global Payments, a payments technology company. It provides clients with experts familiar with patrons’ needs for quick authorization and limit increases. VIP Preferred is available in more than 500 North American land-based, mobile and online gaming locations.
