The International Gaming Standards Association Tuesday announced the launch of a payment-standards committee with the intent to create standards that govern online, mobile, and other payment options for all segments of the gaming industry.

Aristocrat Gaming, AXES.ai, Oregon Lottery, and Playtech are the first members to join this committee.

“Regulators from all over the globe are constantly asking for guidance on how to create a safer payments landscape for their operators,” said IGAA President Peter DeRaedt in a statement. “This committee will assure our members that we’ll protect our industry.  The Board of Directors has embraced this project rapidly since the arrival of our new Chairman, Earle G. Hall. Earle’s quest is to ensure payments are a shining source of new revenue for our industry, whilst protecting the regulators and operators with a world-class standard.”

The committee will explore various avenues of payments to ensure regulators have clear guidance on how to ensure jurisdictions are protected against fraud, theft, and other illicit activities.
