Revenues for Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) grew significantly in 2020 according to unaudited estimates released by the company Monday. Gaming revenue was between $101 and $102 million, a 67% increase from 2019’s total of $60.9 million.
Last year Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta created GNOG as a separate public business, valued at $745 million, from his Golden Nugget Casinos.
“We are very pleased with yet another year of rapid and profitable growth,” said Fertitta, Chairman and CEO, Monday. “2020 was a transformational year for GNOG, which went public, reached $100 million in GGR and signed market access agreements in multiple states.”
Golden Nugget’s online gaming launched in New Jersey in 2013 and is considered the state’s largest Internet casino with more than $177 million in gaming revenue in 2019. Last year GNOG reached agreements with West Virginia, Illinois, and Michigan to provide mobile sports wagering and igaming.
GNOG started online in Michigan on January 22 in partnership with the Ojibwa Casino in Marquette.
“We are thrilled to be live in Michigan and are optimistic on the revenue opportunity,” said Thomas Winter, president of GNOG. “We have just launched our marketing campaign and are already recording close to $2 million dollars in daily casino wagers. Michigan is embracing online gaming at a rapid pace and we anticipate that our business in the Great Lakes State will exceed our earlier expectations.”
