Global Gaming Expo was honored Thursday night with the “Do-Gooder Award,” reflecting the organization’s philanthropic partnership with the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG). The Do-Gooder Award category, one of Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Grand Awards, recognizes a trade show’s commitment to a charity or philanthropy.

“No one takes responsible gaming more seriously than the American Gaming Association,” AGA vice president of industry relations Allie Barth said.“(And) there is no better platform than G2E, where nearly 30,000 industry leaders gather, to heighten awareness of responsible gaming and raise funds for the important work of NCRG.”

G2E, the premier gathering of the global gaming industry, is presented annually by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by Reed Exhibitions. This year’s edition will take place October 14-17 at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“G2E helps support the industry’s responsible gaming awareness, education, and fundraising initiatives,” G2E event director Korbi Carrison said in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with NCRG to raise the global gaming industry’s support of and commitment to responsible gaming.”

In 2006, NCRG moved its annual conference to G2E to increase the interaction between industry leaders and researchers. The G2E show management team helps with the execution of the NCRG conference though securing space, operational needs, and direct fundraising through charitable contributions as part of the registration for certain badge categories and as a portion of every exhibitor booth sale.

To date, this partnership has resulted in $340,000 of cash contributions to NCRG and more than $630,000 in-kind over the past seven years.

This year, for the first time, G2E is promoting an exhibitor-led Fun Run which will drive additional contributions to NCRG. The Return to Player (RTP) 5k Fun Run for Responsible Gaming, powered by Novomatic and supported by G2E, AGA, and AGEM, will be held Monday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. PT at the Springs Preserve.
