Relay, a pioneering cloud-based platform reshaping communication for frontline workers, is introducing RelayX, a cutting-edge solution tailored for the gaming industry, this week at G2E at booth 2614.
Designed to tackle the unique challenges of casino and hospitality operations, RelayX features robust redundant connectivity, ensuring seamless communication even in the noisiest of environments. By integrating multiple 4G/5G networks, Private LTE, LoRa, and wifi, RelayX establishes an ultra-reliable turnkey network. Its advanced audio capabilities, including high-output dual speakers, multiple microphones, and state-of-the-art background noise cancellation, make it ideal for the vibrant atmosphere of casino floors. Plus, the device’s high-contrast OLED screen is visible in bright sunlight, enhancing usability both indoors and outdoors.
Chase Martin, an enterprise account executive at Relay, credited the significance of customer feedback in developing RelayX. “Our new device directly addresses the key challenges faced by teams in high-noise environments. With extended battery life and rugged durability, RelayX has proven its performance through extensive testing in casinos.”
With a peak loudness rating of 110 decibels, RelayX is purpose-built for the casino setting. “We designed this device to thrive in the loudest environments, particularly near slot machines where background noise can be overwhelming.”
Users have the flexibility to utilize the built-in speaker, a Bluetooth earpiece, or a specialized Relay headset that minimizes noise interference. The extended battery life is advantageous for casinos operating around the clock, reducing the need for frequent battery swaps during shifts. “RelayX is designed to last the entire day, streamlining battery management,” Martin said.
In light of heightened security concerns in casinos, RelayX comes equipped with vital safety features, including a built-in panic button and precise indoor location tracking. “Our tools enhance communication among security and surveillance teams, ensuring employee safety and accountability,” Martin said.
The system provides valuable insights, tracking essential information such as emergency response times and location history, all accessible via a user-friendly dashboard for casino management. “These insights empower leaders to optimize operations and uphold safety protocols.”
RelayX also supports discreet communication options, allowing for one-on-one direct conversations when certain conversations shouldn’t be broadcasted over group channels.
In a further enhancement, the device features a language-translation option that bridges communication gaps with guests. Staff can communicate in English, which the device then translates into more than 30 languages, facilitating smooth interactions at the front desk or on the casino floor. Martin emphasized the introduction of TeamTranslate, a new feature that fosters communication across teams with language barriers, enhancing collaboration and expanding hiring opportunities for casinos.
IT departments will appreciate RelayX’s straightforward deployment and end-to-end encryption, plus no infrastructure or maintenance is required. “Our patented connectivity technology ensures seamless transitions between carriers and networks, providing reliable communication across properties without the infrastructure headaches,” Martin explained.
RelayX is ideal for security teams patrolling multiple locations, offering nationwide connectivity that keeps officers in touch even when they leave casino premises, ensuring swift responses to emergencies.
With a three-year warranty and a no-cost upgrade program to equivalent models on qualifying plans, RelayX presents a cost-effective solution for casinos.
“This means no unexpected expenses for repairs or replacements, allowing for effective budgeting,” Martin said.
