Clarion Gaming has secured the loan, from the Mob Museum, of a Columbia 1-cent slot machine that dates back to the mid-1930s, which will be on display at Clarion’s booth at G2E (#5538).
G2E visitors will be able to view the historic slot, produced by the Groetchen Tool & Mfg. Co. of Chicago, at Clarion, organizers of the ICE London gaming expo. The Columbia machine displays images of fruit, bells, and bars. The visible jackpot bank would display pennies previously paid into the machine.
Clarion Gaming’s Managing Director Stuart Hunter said the appearance of a piece of gambling-industry history will provide a platform to discuss future initiatives impacting ICE. He said, “We’re coming to G2E to meet with the industry and our many friends in North America in order to explain our plans for the development of the show in London, which will represent the first full-scale edition of ICE since 2020. All the major suppliers and innovators are returning after a COVID-enforced absence and the 2023 event is on course to be the biggest on record.”
The Clarion Gaming team will also be hosting more than 200 gaming-industry professionals who have accepted an invitation to participate in the ICE London 2023 Ampersand event which is taking place on October 10th at Top Golf Las Vegas. Insights arising from the Open Space-style gathering will be fed into the ICE development program, helping to ensure that the show remains totally relevant to the needs of what is one of the economy’s fastest-moving and most dynamic sectors.
