Topgolf has announced in a press release that Erin Chamberlin, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations at Penn Entertainment, started work as its new Chief Operating Officer on Monday.
“As a Topgolf player myself, I’m beyond excited for the opportunity to bring my gaming entertainment experience into the modern golf space. It’s an exciting time to join the brand, and I look forward to working with the accomplished teams responsible for the day-to-day success of our venues and player experience,” Chamberlin said in the press release.
Chamberlin has decades of experience in the gambling industry, working with Caesars Entertainment at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas, Harrah’s North Kansas City and Horseshoe Baltimore. During her time with the latter casino, she claimed the 2018 Women in Gaming Leader of the Year Award.
While at Penn Entertainment, she helped with horse racing operations and was the chairwoman of PENN Women. In this latter role, she commented on the need for female representation in the gaming industry.
Chamberlin’s departure from Penn Entertainment comes as CEO Jay Snowden recently announced the layoff of about 100 employees as the company aims to grow its interactive business, including ESPN Bet. Chamberlin’s role at PENN Entertainment as Senior Vice President of Regional Operations had no involvement in this side of the business.
