Table Trac, based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, has been at the forefront of cutting-edge casino information and management systems since its founding in 1995. The company’s CasinoTrac casino management system has been installed at over 280 casinos around the globe, providing full functionality for all casino resort operations.
Coming off record-breaking revenues in 2022, Table Trac has introduced as part of its aggressive expansion plan an exclusive agreement with Marker Trax and Koin to integrate cashless functionality into the company’s KTMobile app.
“KTMobile, an abbreviation for KioskTrac Mobile, was designed to be an extension of the players club in the palm of the player’s hand,” said Jeff Baldi, senior vice president of commercial strategy. “Everything that you can do at a club counter or kiosk you can do with the convenience of your mobile phone.
“Now through our unique agreement with Marker Trax and Koin Payments, we are releasing Cashless in a Box to KTMobile, through CasinoTrac Konnect. Our Cashless in a Box solution will enable our customers to deploy and support a fully regulated, cashless wagering solution as well as leverage the marketing solution. In addition to the breadth of the Koin relationship, casinos will also have access to regulatory-compliant marker technology from Marker Trax, all in one relationship, where approved.”
With the KTMobile app empowered with Cashless in a Box, guests will have access to a single, branded digital wallet for all of their gaming, resort, food and beverage, and general retail purchases. The DNA-level integration is designed to support a cohesive brand experience for the casino’s customer, inside and outside the four walls of the casino operation.
“Mobile app technology is an area in which I am very comfortable and familiar,” said Baldi, who brings more than 27 years of exemplary service and experience in both casino operations and manufacturing to Table Trac.
“The convenience of KTMobile is significant. Because these products have matured over time, there’s always a stopping point, or a break where functionality stops based upon how something is being consumed. Cashless in a Box is the solution.
“We have made players club counters and kiosks electronic. No more standing in long lines. During the COVID pandemic, guests were observed backing away from kiosks because of all the people in front of them having touched the screen. We discovered speaking with customers that there is a lot of value in removing the common touchpoint, literally.”
KTMobile utilizes Table Trac’s patented digital currency transfer solution, bringing full cashless functionality throughout the property. The app is seamlessly integrated with CasinoTrac Reflexive Rewards offers and KioskTrac promotions.
When asked about consumer education for using the technology, Baldi believes it is a “shared responsibility” between the vender and the operators.
“It’s really incumbent upon us in partnership with our casino customers to educate and support the launch of these products, because they are pretty unique to the older players, the bread and butter of casino revenue,” he added.
Looking back on the history of casino floor technological advancements that directly impacted guests, Baldi reflected that “the education of the player is directly related to the speed at which technology is adopted in the casino, and there was a early distrust from customers to casinos as far as fairness”.
“Think about when bill validators were first introduced to slot machines, followed by ticket-in/ticket-out technology,” he said. “With the boom of riverboat gambling and tribal casinos, a fair number of new players really didn’t understand the business. It took them a while to understand that they were going to get paid the same amount on a ticket as they would with quarters dropping into the tray.”
KTMobile enables promotional and cash credits to move seamlessly from each player’s account to slot machines, table games, restaurants, and any other point of sale on the property using the digital player card.
An additional cost-saving perk is that players may view their direct mail offers, upcoming promotions, and other casino happenings at the touch of a finger. Promotional and cash credits are securely transferred to slot machines. Baldi explained that bill validators and tickets meant significant cost saving, in addition to increased time on device, both of which impact the bottom line.
KTMobile’s convenience means that property guests will have the convenience of a single digital payment solution available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which they can access seamlessly, on and off property.
Operators in turn have the convenience of optimizing brand loyalty while reducing operating costs and lower the overhead of customer loyalty programs.
“I think you can see that with all the efforts being made by financial services companies to promote cashless wagering and cashless accounts, the education curve is significant,” he maintains.
“It’s a big responsibility we’re proactively accepting with our customers, which is why we are developing a launch package with the release of Cashless in a Box through Table Trac’s agreement with Marker Trax and Koin.
“I believe this because if the vendor has all of the benefits, and if the software company and the operator are the only ones that understand the benefits, the customers won’t use it because they ‘don’t get it’.”
