Last year at the Global Gaming Expo, Light & Wonder introduced the newest addition to its COSMIC hardware family, the COSMIC SKY cabinet, generating strong interest from attendees. The dual-portrait platform will soon make its next major appearance at the upcoming Indian Gaming Association Tradeshow & Convention in San Diego.
Designed to deliver an immersive player experience while offering operators flexible placement options, COSMIC SKY reflects Light & Wonder’s continued focus on hardware innovation.
Brett Colbert, Director of Product Management at Light & Wonder, says the cabinet combines standout design with adaptable configurations for casino floors.
“What’s great about it is that it looks incredible whether it’s installed as a pod or in an inline configuration,” Colbert says. “Operators have flexibility in how they want to configure it.”
With edge lighting, MLED bank packaging capable of displaying video, and dual 55-inch Ultra HD curved displays, the cabinet is designed to command attention on the casino floor.
Colbert notes that players continue to gravitate toward games that feel immersive and premium, while operators increasingly look for cabinets that are easier to place, service, and adapt over time.
COSMIC SKY is designed to address both priorities. The dual portrait screens create a dynamic visual experience for players, while the cabinet’s flexible footprint allows it to fit into a variety of floor configurations.
“You could have small and large pod configurations,” Colbert explains. “But casinos also have wall space and pillars across the floor. COSMIC SKY fits really well against walls, and you can place units around pillars, allowing operators to use spaces where a traditional cabinet with a large overhead sign might not work.”
The cabinet also supports the type of gameplay many players are currently seeking.
COSMIC SKY is designed to feature a wide range of content while maintaining player comfort during longer sessions.
“It’s ergonomically designed to be a cabinet you can comfortably play for hours if you choose to,” Colbert says. “It draws your attention, but it’s also placed in some of the most exciting areas of the casino floor, which makes the experience even more engaging.”
The platform will debut with several of Light & Wonder’s popular proprietary and licensed themes, including Huff N’ Puff More Money Mansion, Quick Hit Ultra Link, and Willy Wonka Sweet Selection. Each title has been developed specifically for COSMIC SKY and features well-known mechanics such as Hold & Spin bonuses, selectable free games, and vibrant visual presentation.
For Light & Wonder, COSMIC SKY represents the continued evolution of its cabinet portfolio.
“COSMIC SKY reinforces our commitment to hardware innovation,” Colbert says. “Each new platform is designed to elevate the player experience, expand operator flexibility, and build on the success of our proven game franchises.”
