FanDuel, the major sports betting operator from Flutter Entertainment (LSE: FLTR), has announced a new agreement with Genius Sports. The agreement expands on the two’s current agreement, signed in November 2021, to integrate Genius Sports’ BetVision product, including NFL live streams, on its sports betting app.
FanDuel is an Official Sports Betting Partner of the NFL, and Genius Sports is the exclusive distributor of NFL Official League Data. Genius Sports already provides FanDuel with Next Gen Stats (NGS) as well as official league data for its betting data feed.
The new agreement will allow FanDuel to stream select NFL games throughout the season on the app, featuring exclusive stats used by Genius Sports’ North American broadcast partners.
The press release announcing the partnership states that in the future, the FanDuel app will include a range of new features from BetVision, including “integrated betting odds, in-game betting alerts… data-drive augmentations, and the ability to place live bets within the video player.”
Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer of FanDuel, said in the press release, “As an Official Sports Betting Partner of the National Football League, we’re continuing to look for ways to elevate the betting experience on our platform for fans during every game. Partnering with Genius will allow us to pair our industry-leading product with access to BetVision to build a seamless live betting experience for fans.”
Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, commented on the deal, saying, “In partnership with FanDuel, we are proud to lead a new era of sports betting experiences across North America. With heightened demand for greater personalization and interactivity, BetVision revolutionizes the live betting experience for FanDuel’s customers by helping to drive fan engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.”
Launching in September, Locke said that BetVision will give “Sportsbooks a new way to drive engagement and accelerate the growth of in-game betting.” For example, its advanced insights feature allows for augmented reality within NFL broadcasts, allowing bettors to see what players are lining up each play and offers them live bets based on the players on the field.
Genius Sports, whose Q3 financial reports showed a 34% increase in revenue this week, stated that other betting platforms with the BetVision product, including Fanatics Sportsbook, have noted increases in “in-game wagers, customer engagement, and drive retention while providing sportsbook customers with unique personalization options.”
