Ahead of its $385 million third-phase expansion scheduled to start in January, Durango Casino & Resort in Las Vegas has set Dec. 15 as the opening of its high-limit slot room, with its newly extended casino floor having opened over the weekend as part of the second phase.
Red Rock Resorts, which debuted Durango in December 2023, said its new high-limit slot room will be one of the largest in the city when it opens. The casino’s parking garage on the south end of the southwest Las Vegas property also opens Dec. 15.
The extended casino that was unveiled over the weekend added 6,000 square feet of gaming space that offers more than 100 games and machines. The total cost of the second phase is $120 million.
“With the addition of more casino square footage and the latest machines, easy covered parking, and high-touch service in our high-limit room, we continue to offer our guests an exciting, convenient gaming experience,” said David Horn, Vice President and General Manager of Durango.
Durango’s new high-limit slot room will open at 5 p.m. Dec. 15 and redefines luxury gaming, Horn said. Spanning over 8,000 square feet of dedicated gaming and indoor and outdoor lounge space, “this refined setting is one of the largest in the city and will feature 120 high-limit slot machines, including the debut of 30 brand new games,” Horn said.
The room will offer the Jackpot Express payout system designed for seamless winning moments and a dedicated cage within the space ensures quick payouts.
In addition to the expansion of luxury gaming, Durango will also debut a new multi-level covered parking garage on Dec. 15 at 10 a.m.; it will add nearly 2,000 additional parking spaces located off Maule Avenue.
“The structure has been designed with both convenience and efficiency in mind, offering direct covered access points just steps from the resort entrance and upgraded signage to improve traffic flow throughout the property,” Horn said. “As with all Station Casinos properties, parking will be complimentary, underscoring Durango’s commitment to providing a seamless welcoming experience from arrival to departure.”
The third phase will add 275,000 square feet to house about 400 new slot machines and increase amenities, including a 36-lane bowling facility, movie theater, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Construction, set to begin in January, is expected to take about 18 months to complete.
