Former ESPN personality Dan Le Batard has a new home.
DraftKings announced Tuesday a sponsorship deal with Meadowlark Media to distribute “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” across a range of audio, television, digital and social channels.
Greg Cote of the Miami Herald reported via Twitter that the deal is worth $50 million.
“DraftKings believed in us, our principles and our mission enough to give us a freedom no scared corporation or traditional media partner ever could or ever would,” Le Batard said Tuesday in a statement. “To our fans, know that DraftKings is the reason you aren’t behind a paywall, and I’m promising you the money won’t change the show or corrupt us in any way.”
Meadowlark Media is a content company the radio and television host and former ESPN president John Skipper formed in January shortly Le Batard left ESPN. Meadowlark recently signed former ESPN hosts Jemelle Hill and Adnan Virk, filmmaker Lynn Novick (whose credits include projects with Ken Burns), and writer and producer Michael Schur, whose credits include “Parks and Recreation” and “The Office”.
“John Skipper and Dan Le Batard have established a deep roster of content creators that will continue to expand quality and original programming,” DraftKings Chairman and CEO Jason Robins said in a statement. “Our relationship with Meadowlark Media demonstrates DraftKings’ dynamic approach in bringing premium content to skin-in-the-game sports fans through numerous channels.”
The partnership with Le Batard and Meadowlark Media comes nearly a month after DraftKings acquired the Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN), a multi-platform broadcast and content provider of sports betting news and information, on March 30.
Le Batard’s show will feature content provided by DraftKings, including odds, betting trends, and daily fantasy information. The show is scheduled to launch sometime in 2021. Until then, “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” is available via podcast on a variety of platforms,
