Detroit’s three casinos reported $106.9 million in revenue last month, down 4.6% from last year’s $112.5 million.
The figures published by the Michigan Gaming Control Board revealed that of the combined $106.9 million, slots and table games generated $105.7 million and retail sports betting produced $1.2 million.
Only MotorCity Casino reported a year-over-year revenue increase, reporting $31.2 million last month. This was up 1.4% from $30.8 million, a 1.4%.
MGM Grand Detroit reported a 4% year-over-year decline in revenue, dropping from $53.9 million to $51.7 million. Hollywood Casino at Greektown was down 13% from $26.2 million to $22.8 million.
Retail sports betting also decreased year-over-year in August. Handle declined 29.7% from $9.6 million to $6.8 million, while qualified adjusted gross receipts dropped 26.7% from $1.7 million to $1.2 million.
Compared to July, combined revenue also was down, dropping from $107 million to $106.9 million month-over-month.
