Delaware casinos record 21.3% year-over-year revenue decline in September
Delaware’s three casinos reported $36.4 million in revenue for last month, down 21.3% from the $46.2 million generated the year prior.
The figures, published by the Delaware Lottery, revealed that all three casinos reported year-over-year double-digit revenue drops in September.
Delaware Park recorded the highest revenue in September, generating $15.3 million, which was down 16.3% compared to the previous year’s total of $18.3 million and the lowest revenue decline of all three. Video lottery terminals decreased 17.8% year-over-year, dropping to $13.1 million. Table games also declined year-over-year, falling to $2.2 million, a 6.3% decline.
Bally’s Dover reported the second-highest revenue for the month, but the greatest year-over-year decline, with revenue dropping from $16.6 million to $11.9 million, a 28.1% year-over-year decline. VLTs totaled $10.8 million, down 27.3% year-over-year. Table games declined 35.2% to $1.2 million.
Harrington Casino generated the lowest revenue in September, recording $9.2 million, down 18.9% year-over-year from $11.3 million. VLTs and table games experienced year-over-year revenue declines, dropping 18.1% and 27.8%, respectively.
Combined VLT revenue fell from $41.2 million to $32.3 million, a 21.3% year-over-year decrease. Table games declined 20.7% from $5.1 million to $4.1 million.
