GGW Voices is an ongoing collaboration between CDC Gaming Reports and Global Gaming Women featuring commentary and insight from women in the gaming industry.
The gaming industry has long been dominated by male voices, but GGW’s new podcast, “Fair Game,” is changing that narrative. Introduced earlier this year, “GGW’s Fair Game” is a groundbreaking podcast dedicated to amplifying the many voices of women in the gaming industry.
“GGW Fair Game” is not just another gaming podcast; it’s a platform where industry professionals can share their insights, experiences and stories (if you are a listener, you know, we feel VERY strongly that stories are permission slips). It’s a beacon of hope and empowerment. By sharing these powerful stories, this podcast aims to inspire women to pursue their passions and to believe in their ability to succeed in the casino and entertainment industries.
The representation of women in the gaming industry has improved over the years, but there is still so much work to be done. Women often face unique challenges in the workplace, from gender bias and unequal pay to underrepresentation in leadership roles and more. “GGW’s Fair Game” seeks to address these issues head-on by fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Our goal is to create a space where women feel seen, heard and valued by highlighting the trailblazers who have overcome these obstacles and provide a roadmap for others to follow.
The idea for this podcast developed overtime as myself, fellow board member Kate White and GGW Associate Director Kelly Hatch watched the development of GGWs programming. We were offering incredible educational opportunities and leadership development programs, but where were the real, raw conversations? Where were the opportunities to highlight the women that were in the trenches, going through the struggles that people can often be afraid to discuss? Even further, why are some afraid to talk about certain things and how do we create a safe space for everyone and help eliminate that fear?
I believe that every woman’s story has the power to inspire change. By showcasing incredible women, I hope to create a ripple effect that encourages more women to step up in this industry with confidence and determination. I hope you join me and a few of my powerhouse co-hosts on this journey. We laugh together, cry together, learn together but most importantly, we evolve together.
