Here are my 10 gaming wishes for you all in the New Year:
- Visit your competition. Visit your competition. Visit your competition.
- When your visits are over, get out of your silo. If Marketing, Slots, IT, Finance and Table games aren’t constantly collaborating and having frequent lunches together, you’re leaving money all over the floor.
- Celebrate more with your floor teams. They are far more important than the folks “upstairs”.
- There are good and bad casino parking garages. Please scrap and rebuild yours if it is in the latter category.
- Come on, Texas & New York City! You know that everyone there really wants casinos (even if they won’t admit it). Just do it.
- Update all your casino software to the latest versions as soon as they become available. There may be some short-term pain, but the benefits will be more profitable and long lasting.
- Don’t miss the opportunity to explore and adopt the incredible new tools that AI can provide.
- Likewise, encourage all operators to invest in more training and learning how to better use the software products they already own.
- Only in rare cases is adding more and more good machines a mistake. (A declining Win/Unit/Day number is not necessarily a bad thing).
- Please criminalize “6/5 Blackjack,” “Triple 000 Roulette,” and “Resort Fees”.
From Cory (our boss), Brooke (our editor), John and myself, the Frank Floor Talk team wishes you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year — Buddy
