Fun fact: Did you know that Bellagio in Las Vegas was originally supposed to be named Beau Rivage? Visionary casino developer Steve Wynn decided to instead reserve the name Beau Rivage for his waterfront casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, which opened in early 1999, right about the same time my first child was born.
A jewel on the Gulf Coast
Since I live in New Orleans, I admit that I spend a lot of time in Biloxi, specifically at Beau Rivage. I am very familiar with the property. I can attest that the property offers amazing restaurants, comfortable rooms, a great staff, and plenty of top-notch entertainment. I have heard that their Fallen Oaks golf course is nice, too.

Nestled among several other casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Beau Rivage Casino stands out for its Vegas-like feel more than any of its surrounding competitors, not to say those don’t each have their own appeal.

Stepping into Beau Rivage, visitors will undoubtedly recognize the iconic Steve Wynn ambiance, complete with fresh florals that change throughout the seasons. A long, elegant hallway of shops, eateries, and even a Top Golf leads to a massive casino floor featuring many table games, a poker room, a sports book, and over 1,200 slot machines. My husband and I spend most of our time on the video poker machines, many of which were recently installed.

After some lengthy play, we typically eat at Stalla, the Italian restaurant where the bartender knows exactly how I like my mojito, or at the brand-new Coraline’s seafood restaurant, known for their char-grilled oysters. The BR Prime Steakhouse is also excellent. My go-to there is either fried chicken or the lobster – yes, I know, it’s a steakhouse, but I am not a steak eater.

Once we have had our fill of gambling and food, a nice hot bath usually calls to me. On that note, the aroma of the bath products at Beau Rivage is my favorite of any casino! I wish I had them at home. I literally keep smelling my hands after washing them because they smell so good.

After a relaxing bath, I am happy to hop into bed, which always has the softest sheets and the best pillows, for a solid night’s sleep. You don’t realize how much you appreciate that until you stay at a casino hotel with an uncomfortable bed.
The next morning…. Well, it depends on how the day before went. We do have a budget, after all. Whether we play a little more in the morning or just head straight home, we always know we will be back.
