When I was invited to visit Morongo Casino, I was so excited! Not only had I heard great things about the property in Cabazon, California, from friends and viewers, but it would also give me a chance to visit with my son Carson, who lives in San Diego.

On Tuesday morning, I made the long flight from Orlando to San Diego, where Carson picked me up for the three-hour drive to the property. Though Palm Springs Airport is only about twenty miles from the property, I figured the long drive was a perfect opportunity to catch up and take in the beautiful California landscape.

We checked into a beautiful suite with gorgeous mountain views. Carson was amazed at how spacious the suite was, even joking about the living room being bigger than his entire apartment. He wasn’t wrong. The room was great and since we were there for four nights, I was thankful to have a space that felt so comfortable.

Food is always a big part of any trip for us and Morongo didn’t disappoint. Cielo Steakhouse was highly recommended and after our meal, I can see why! I had the sea bass and mac and cheese – yum. Carson had a steak and left no evidence behind, which tells you all you need to know. Pro tip – visit on Friday or Saturday to enjoy the live pianist.

Another favorite dining spot was Pescato Oyster Bar. I had the pan roast, and my mouth is literally watering just thinking about it.

Of course, we also spent some time on the casino floor. There is a great mix of old and new slots, which I always appreciate. I was able to get some fun videos that I’m really excited to share with viewers, and I even scored a $2,000 jackpot thanks to aces with a kicker on Triple Double video poker.

Morongo Oasis Pool

One thing I always appreciate when visiting a casino is having something to do other than gambling. The Oasis Pool at Morongo felt like a mini vacation on its own. The weather was perfect – it’s California, after all – and the music selection created a nice ambience. From lounging on a daybed with a book to enjoying the water slide and lazy river, we filled the day with fun and relaxation before hitting the bar for a night of cocktails and video poker.

Our last afternoon at Morongo was spent at the Sage Spa. I’ve never been to a spa that I didn’t like. This was no exception. My massage was relaxing with just the right amount of pressure to ease the tension in my back.

By the time Sunday morning came around, we were sad to say goodbye. Thankfully, I already have another trip planned.
