The Canadian Gaming Association has announced the election of two new members to its board of director, after an election at the CGA’s annual general meeting in Toronto Dec. 6.

Scott Woodgate, vice president (Canada) for BetMGM and Kurt Gissane, senior vice president of sales for North America for Aristocrat Gaming, were elected to the board. Richard Taylor, president of Niagara Casinos, was reappointed for a second three-year term.

Woodgate was previously a content and production executive for the global-streaming service DAZN. Prior to that, the native of Vancouver held leadership and production roles at Rogers Sportsnet and CTV News.

Gissane oversees tribal gaming at Aristocrat Gaming. He brings more than 23 years of industry experience in Australia, Asia, and North America. He’s played a central role in delivering Aristocrat’s gaming content to the company’s customer base in North America.

“Scott and Kurt’s knowledge and expertise will add immense value as the CGA continues to drive our strategic mandate to advance the evolution of a regulated and responsible industry through collaboration, education, and advocacy,” said Paul Burns, President and CEO of the CGA. “With Scott and Kurt, we are adding the right voices, experiences, and geographical representation to the table.”

The CGA has 20 members on its board, representing a cross-section of the industry nationwide, including Dale Hooper, General Manager, FanDuel Canada, Shelley White, President & CEO, Responsible Gambling Council, Bruce Caughill, Managing Director (Canada) Rush Street Interactive, Adriane McGrath, Vice President, Business Development, Konami Gaming Inc., and Scott Vanderwell, CEO, PointsBet Canada.

The same day as their general meeting, the Canadian Gaming Association formally launched their new Commitment and Strategy to Promote Player Health and Wellbeing program with an industry symposium in Toronto.

The CGA is a national trade association that works to advance the evolution of Canada’s gaming industry.
