Loto-Québec is bringing ARcade by Moment Factory to the Casino de Montréal to provide a “different kind of entertainment to our clients,” while showcasing an innovative Montreal-based company, according to a spokesperson for the corporation.

ARcade is a complement to the existing entertainment lineup at the casino (bars, shows, live entertainment, gaming, etc.), a Loto-Québec spokesperson said. It offers customers a different way to have fun at the casino that lets customers take a break from games of chance.

Casino de Montréal is for adults only, so this isn’t about a younger crowd that might be attracted to the technology.

ARcade is a multimedia innovation of life-sized interactive games for groups of all ages. Games are projected onto the floor and players use their bodies as controllers. It’s inspired by legendary ’80s’ video games, “a modern take on the arcade experience, a playground at the crossroads of video games and sports,” Moment Factory said in a statement. The two play areas host teams of a minimum of four players who choose from the six interactive games offered. It’s all about encouraging play and human interaction.

The entire Pavillon du Québec’s first level has been redesigned to accommodate ARcade.

“ARcade gives our customers a chance to enjoy a different form of entertainment, in addition to our shows—whether free or in the performance hall—and our restaurants. The activity is original and perfect for groups looking for a fun time unlike any other,” said Kevin Taylor, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of casinos and gaming halls at Loto-Québec.

Said Jonathan St-Onge, general manager at Moment Factory: “ARcade embodies our vision of entertainment at Moment Factory: Bringing people together in the real world for a unique experience. With this concept created in our Montreal studio and presented to the public for the first time, we offer a new way to have fun and create human connections through multimedia and innovation.”
