The first charity golf tournament hosted by Cache Creek Casino Resort and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation raised more than $70,000 for Special Olympics Northern California.

“The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation remains committed to building strong, inclusive communities,” said Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Tribal Chairman Anthony Roberts in a statement. “We are thrilled to share the natural beauty of our homelands with our valued partners to help raise funds for such an admirable organization.”

Held Oct. 26, the tournament took place at Yocha Dehe Golf Club in Brooks, California, and was expected to raise $50,000 for Special Olympics.

“We’re grateful to Cache Creek Casino Resort for supporting Special Olympics Northern California through this charity golf tournament,” said Special Olympics Northern California Chief Development Officer Cathy Domanski. “Funds raised allow Special Olympics to continue our mission of creating an inclusive community where people with and without disabilities can make connections, develop healthy lifestyles, achieve success, and experience the joy of sports, all free of charge for participants.”
