Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon, California, presented $197,000 to 26 charities during its 19th Holiday Gift Giving Ceremony on December 2. The donations contributed to each of the non-profit’s diverse missions in health, youth services, veterans’ assistance, the arts and environmental conservation.
A breakfast event took place where attendees networked with Sycuan Tribal Council members, Sycuan Casino Resort leaders and other nonprofit representatives.
“With the gifts this morning, we honor your humanity, your heart for service and in dedicating your calling to those who need a helping hand,” Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation Vice Chairman Joshua Muse said in a statement. “On behalf of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, Sycuan Casino Resort and Singing Hills Golf Club, thank you and happy holidays.”
Each year, leaders of the Sycuan Tribal Council, Sycuan Casino Resort and Singing Hills Golf Course select a charity to support. Each nonprofit receives a donation on behalf of Sycuan to further their respective missions.
