Northern California’s Red Hawk Casino in Placerville has delayed its planned reopening by a week until June 8.
In a statement, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians tribal leadership and casino management team said it made the decision, “based on the latest and updated public health information, and to ensure the safest possible environment for its employees and guests.”
The tribe is implementing a full and comprehensive health and safety plan for the property.
They include: social distancing among casino guests not residing in the same household; temperature checks with thermal cameras of guests and team members at all casino entrances; face masks or coverings for guests and team members; reduced number of open slot machines and seating at table games; additional hand-sanitizing stations throughout the casino; casino-wide chip cleaning; frequent sanitizing of high-touch surfaces; additional sanitizing by request at the slot machines; reduced seating in restaurants utilizing disposable paper menus; no self-serve food or beverages; and all team members retrained on proper hand-washing and sanitizing procedures.
