The Commerce Casino and Hotel in Los Angeles on Thursday announced a multi-year partnership with Passport Technology. The Commerce will use Passport’s cage automation technology and core cash access services.

“After much deliberation, we selected Passport Technology to provide cash access services,” Commerce Casino Director of Cage & Credit Department James Hicklin said in a statement. “We are excited for our guests to enjoy a best-in-class experience with Passport’s payment solutions and the improved operational efficiencies that will come with the installation of LiveCage.”

Passport’s cage automation suite includes Bank Builder Pro cash recyclers, Live Cage cash dispensers and proprietary balance and reconciliation tools. The tools work hand-in-hand with Passport’s payment products and its cloud-based DataStream processing switch to deliver cash to the cardroom floor while achieving maximum security, compliance, efficiency and guest satisfaction.

The Commerce, which features Texas Hold’em, EZ Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker,  recently hosted the 2024 World Series of Poker Circuit and the 2024 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions. It has hosted the Los Angeles Poker Classic, the Commerce Hold’em series and the California State Poker Championship.

“The Commerce is a huge win for us and one of the largest casino cardrooms in the world as the home of poker in Los Angeles,” Passport Technology Chief Commercial Officer Jason King said. “We are pleased to have them as a partner and will continue to stand on service and the demonstrated value of our people and products.”

Passport, in a release, says it has more than a quarter century of experience in the gaming industry as a developer of proprietary, gaming-specific software solutions, and as a provider of financial transaction processing. The company also supplies specialized hardware and hardware maintenance.

“Passport has made inroads to grow the cardroom market and will continue to be aggressive beyond Southern California,” said Passport Technology Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Alyssa Beaver.
