Jamul Casino in San Diego County, California, Monday announced that its charitable donations in 2023 reached nearly $250,000. The donations were made through its team member initiative, Community Champions, and the Jamul Indian Village of California.
“Community Champions is a great way for the casino to come alongside our team members, encourage their participation in community service, and invest in the causes important to them,” said Jamul Casino President and General Manager Mary Cheeks in a statement. “It’s been a thrill to see this initiative really take off and become such a force for good in the community.”
The tribal casino gave donations to nearly four dozen organizations in 2023. Recipients include the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Wounded Warrior Project, Central Surf San Diego, the San Diego LGBTQ Center, and Imperial Court de San Diego, and Many Shades of Pink.
“It has been an honor to partner with so many organizations serving our region’s underserved communities and be a part of their efforts to make a difference,” said Jamul Indian Village Chairwoman Erica M. Pinto.
