Officials celebrated a significant milestone today as the final beam was placed on the new $405 million Beloit casino project.

The casino, which has been in the works since 1992, will feature nearly 2,000 gaming machines, 44 gaming tables, and four restaurants. Approved by Wisconsin’s governor in 2021, the project marks a major development for the city of Beloit and the Ho-Chunk Nation.

“This is not the Ho-Chunk Nation’s project. This is the City of Beloit. This is Rock County. This is the citizens of Beloit. This is the state of Wisconsin,” said John Greendeer, President of the Ho-Chunk Nation. “These are entities that have worked collaboratively together to not only help create those jobs, because we couldn’t do this by ourselves.”
