William Hill have asked customers to return funds erroneously credited to their accounts by a malfunction to one of its online casino games.

Posts on social media showed customers with tens of thousands of pounds credited to their betting accounts after playing the bookmaker’s Jackpot Drop game, with at least one punter believed to have received a six-figure payout.

However, accounts were later locked, or the amounts manually readjusted, after William Hill determined that the sums credited to the customers were caused by an error in how the game was operating.
