White Earth Nation leaders continued their tour seeking local support for a project to build a combination casino, hotel and convention center with a stop in Dilworth.
The Dilworth City Council meeting on Monday evening, April 28, was the White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe’s third meeting with a local government after announcing plans to develop a casino-resort complex east of Moorhead. Tribal leaders presented at the Moorhead City Council meeting earlier that evening and at the Clay County Commission meeting last week.
Along with talking through preliminary plans for the land, tribal leaders asked each local government for a letter of support to include in its application to put the land into a trust for tribal gaming.
