Local charities are benefitting thanks to the generosity of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack employees and guests.
On Wednesday morning, the casino presented checks to 15 charities — totaling $75,000.
The money was all from donations from guests and employees throughout the year.
It’s part of the casino’s mission — and a big help for all the charities.
“I’ve always been very impressed and overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests and our employees. This is just one part of the charitable work we do,” said Kim Florence, regional president & general manager.
“I just want to say thank you to the community, thank you to their staff, this is a great gift and helps further our mission,” said Lori Jones, executive director of the YWCA Wheeling.
