Legends Casino Hotel will be distributing over $1 million to nonprofit and community organizations, including $66,000 to the Toppenish Fire Department on Wednesday.
The Yakama Cares program selected 172 nonprofits to share $503,032 while larger grants supporting law enforcement, fire departments, and municipalities were awarded through the Community Impact Fund. Grants include hospice care, fire department support, veteran service animals, materials to support education, support for food banks and more.
The impacts of these grants will be felt throughout Central Washington including Yakima, Benton, Kittitas, and Klickitat counties.
The other $559,594 has been designated in amounts from $5,000 for Yakima Valley Emergency Management to just over $66,000 for the City of Toppenish Fire Department.
