The Yakima Airport was quite busy as it welcomed the return of casino flights, the first of their kind since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The flight, sponsored by Riverside Resort and Casino, took nearly 180 passengers directly to Laughlin, Nevada, for a multi-day casino getaway.
The round-trip package cost about $400 and included a three-night hotel stay and ground transportation between the airport and the casino.
“It’s not quite Las Vegas—but it is Nevada,” said Rob Hodgman, Yakima Airport Director. “We did a poll back in March and April of 2023, and we reached out to the community and asked them where they would like to fly. The number one destination was Las Vegas.”
