The City Council extended the Harbor Park stadium lease by 1 year…

The updated lease also includes new allowances for the Headwaters Resort & Casino, which is planned for part of the stadium’s parking lot, and the city’s seawall project which is planned to border the Elizabeth River. The new lease agreement allows the city to use parts of the stadium parking lot as a staging area for the construction of both projects.

When the city’s casino plans are finalized, it will sell the parking lot that will become the future casino to the casino developer, the lease states.
