The Hard Rock Bristol Casino generated nearly $12 million in its first month of business, Virginia Lottery figures show. The Virginia Lottery released its first figures for the newly opened casino on Monday. According to a press release, the casino generated more than $2.1 million in taxes.

“These results show strong customer interest during our first month of operation,” said Allie Evangelista, president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Hard Rock opened a temporary casino on July 8 at the site of the former Bristol Mall and is planning a permanent location within two years.

Records show that slots generated $10.3 million in revenue while table games accounted for almost $1.5 million in revenue.
