Portsmouth city staff presented council members Tuesday with several budget additions and amendments to be funded with casino gaming revenue and investment revenue. Council members agreed to the additions through a “show of hands” consensus vote, but an official vote is still needed. The council is expected to vote on the $834 million spending plan in early May.

The fiscal 2024 proposed budget projects the city will receive $9 million in casino gaming revenue throughout 2023.
