The temporary home of the Live! Casino Virginia in Petersburg may not yet be in place, but its manager is.
Penny Parayo, senior vice president of property operations for Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland, was named senior vice president and general manager of the facility set to open later in 2025, according to an announcement May 1 by the Petersburg casino’s co-developers, The Cordish Companies and Bruce Smith Enterprise. Cordish owns and operates the Maryland resort near Baltimore.
“We are incredibly fortunate as a company to have a leader as skilled and knowledgeable as Penny, and we’re so pleased to elevate her to a position where she can have even greater impact on the growth of our organization,” Joe Billhimer, chief operating and development officer for Cordish Gaming Group, said.
