Friday morning, Rivers Casino in Portsmouth announced the construction company that will work on The Landing Hotel.
According to a release from Rivers Casino, S.B. Ballard Construction Company — a Norfolk-based company — was chosen as the general contractor for the highly-anticipated hotel, which is expected to bring more revenue to the city by giving people a reason to stay longer in Portsmouth.
The Landing Hotel, which is a $65 million privately funded development, is expected to start construction on Victory Boulevard in the summer and be completed by early 2027, the release states.
In 2023, S.B. Ballard finished construction on Rivers Casino, a 270,000-square-foot gaming and entertainment complex described as the first permanent casino in Virginia.
