Bristol’s Planning Commission on Monday will consider a request to combine around 10 tax map parcels at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino site into one large parcel.

The biggest advantage to having one parcel is that the casino would receive just one tax bill, according to Jay Detrick, the city’s director of community development and planning.

“It also cleans it up a little bit from a land use perspective,” he said Friday.

The request came from Bristol Mall Holdings LLC.

Also included in the request is the establishment of an ingress/egress easement and the dedication of rights of way along Gate City Highway to the city. The additional rights of way were needed so the city could construct a sidewalk on the casino side of Gate City Highway and the new traffic signal infrastructure, Detrick said.
