The British Government’s gambling harms prevention commissioner has U-turned on its previous industry funding policy for gambling charities.
The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), responsible for commissioning prevention services under the new gambling harms funding system, has walked back its scoring policy that may have seen participation in the old regime count against charities seeking funding under the new model.
It follows OHID telling stakeholders in a scoring document last Friday (30 January) that grants of industry funding in the past could be used to choose between funding bids in the event of a tie, despite this previously being the officially sanctioned gambling harms funding system in the UK.
