The Three Rivers Foundation will again award more than $1 million to Oregon nonprofits.

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Three Rivers Casino Resort, established by the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians. The tribe started the foundation in 2011 with profits from the casino and supports causes such as education, health and the environment, according to a news release.

β€œIt is important to us that we make an impact within our community and help organizations that work hard to get the extra funding they need to be successful,” Doug Barrett, tribal council member and Three Rivers Foundation Board of Trustees chair, said in the news release.
