Swedish-licensed operators generated GGR of SEK6.89bn [$664m] in Q2 2024, according to the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA). This figure represents a 2.8% increase year-on-year and a 3.3% increase sequentially.

Online gambling, including Svenska Spel, continues to dominate Sweden’s gambling revenue, contributing SEK4.57bn for Q2—a 9.2% rise from the previous year.

Conversely, revenue from state-owned lottery and physical slot games fell by 7.5% to SEK1.29bn. Non-profit games and national lotteries also saw a slight decline of 0.3% to SEK893m.

Revenue from land-based Casino Cosmopol locations experienced a dramatic drop of 73.8%, amounting to just SEK33m. This decline follows the February closure of Casino Cosmopol venues in Gothenburg and Malmö due to low profitability.
