Strike action continues at the Ajax and Pickering casinos as unionized employees seek to be compensated on par with workers at other gambling halls owned and operated by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.

Approximately 800 workers between Casino Ajax and the Pickering Casino Resort walked off the job after a strike deadline for midnight on Friday, July 22 passed. Both gaming dens remain open 24 hour a day, every day of the week, offering slots and electronic table games. Live table games at the Pickering casino are currently unavailable.

In a July 27 online update, Corey Dalton, president of Unifor Local 1090, which represents the casino workers, offered insight into one of the issues at the heart of the strike.
