Strict new monitoring rules in place for operators in Mexico

Mexico’s Tax Administration Service (SAT) has announced the guidelines through which it will monitor online and real-time games, betting, and digital casinos in Mexico.

New rules will also cover ATMs from financial institutions that sell tickets for games and betting activities The measure is part of tax reform and seeks to close gaps associated with money laundering, tax evasion, and irregular operations in Mexico. The information was published in the annexes of the Miscellaneous Tax Resolution for 2026, released by SAT.

According to the annexes of the Miscellaneous Tax Resolution for 2026, gaming and betting houses, including online operators, must provide permanent, remote, and automated access to their central betting, cash, and cash control systems, as well as to the computing system.
