The Arizona Department of Gaming announced Friday that it has awarded event wagering operator licenses to Sporttrade and Plannatech to conduct sports betting in the Grand Canyon State.
Arizona, which surpassed neighboring Nevada in handle for both April and May thanks to its large population and expansive mobile wagering marketplace, had two open licenses among the 10 allocated to tribal gaming operators. Sporttrade is the designee for the Quechan Indian Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, while Plannatech is the designee for the San Carlos Apache Tribal Gaming Enterprise.
Sporttrade is currently accepting wagers in New Jersey, Colorado, and Iowa, having launched in the Hawkeye State in May.
