Qantas Airlines is launching nonstop flights from Las Vegas to Sydney, Australia in December.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on Wednesday announced the new flights will run Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, starting Dec. 29 and operating through at least March 12, 2027.
The Las Vegas route will become Qantas’ 101st destination and will mark the first time there’s ever been nonstop flights between Australia and Southern Nevada. It will be the longest nonstop flight from Las Vegas.
The new service will save travelers up to five hours in travel time by eliminating the need for connections through other U.S. cities.
“Australia has consistently ranked as our second-largest overseas market and our top international market without a nonstop flight,” LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill said.
