Despite the local community board voting overwhelmingly against the Bally’s Casino and Hotel project, the plan is still moving forward to the Bronx Borough president.

Public testimony is being heard at Bronx Borough Hall, as there is a long list of city and state approvals that need to get the green light in order for Bally’s to move forward with its plans to bring a massive state-of-the-art casino and hotel to Throggs Neck.

Three approvals are being discussed, including the elimination of roughly 16 acres of parkland at Ferry Point Park, the site of the proposed development and the widening and establishment of Ring Road as a city street.
