The city’s casinos were less profitable in the third quarter of this year than they were a year ago, with five of the nine properties seeing their operating profits shrink.
Figures released Monday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show the nine casinos collectively posted a gross operating profit of $232.9 million, down 1.5% from the same period a year ago.
But the picture gets worse when one looks at individual casinos: Only three of the nine gambling halls were more profitable in the third quarter compared to a year earlier: Golden Nugget Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
