The temporary casino in Petersburg brought in almost $4.7 million in gambling revenue during its first 10 days, according to data released Friday by the Virginia Lottery.
Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia, which opened Jan. 22 on Wagner Road, brought in about $3.9 million from its 900-plus slot machines and $800,000 from 32 table games, according to the Lottery. The state requires Virginia’s five casinos to report each month their adjusted gross revenue, which counts money brought in through wagers minus winnings returned to players.
Altogether, the state’s five casinos made about $81 million in adjusted gross revenue in the month of January: Caesars Virginia (Danville), $30.5 million; Rivers Casino Portsmouth, $25.2 million.
