One Western Pennsylvania casino is trying to change its luck after a run of declining revenues.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin is planning to create a high roller area, reconfigure its gambling floor, change the layout of slot machines and upgrade its entrance in a bid to reverse its fortunes.
In addition, the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, the casino licensee, recently decided to operate the venue itself, ending a four-year relationship with Churchill Downs Inc., operator of the Kentucky Derby.
The changes come as the Fayette County gambling parlor has watched its gross revenues slump for much of the past seven years after hitting a high of $35.2 million in 2015. By last year, they had slid to $22.2 million.
